The Cheshire FA Ladies Challenge Cup returned to Stockport after County Ladies defeated Chester City Ladies FC, 2-0. Kayleigh Rowe-Catterall with a headed goal on 34 minutes gave County a deserved lead at half-time. In a scrappy 2nd half, with County looking nervy and Chester increasing in confidence, keeper and player of the match, Laura Bowater pulled off a succession of superb saves to keep County in front. As the game entered injury time, a free-kick was awarded to County, some 25 yards out on the wing, Chloe Spencer stepped up and launched an unstoppable strike high into the top corner giving the Chester keeper no chance and making sure that County returned home with the trophy for the first time since beating Macclesfield in 2007! - Photo courtesy of Gary Gomersall
